India Harville is an African American, queer, disabled/chronically ill, femme, access-centered movement dancer/performance artist, somatic bodyworker, social justice activist/educator. All of these identities deeply inform her work. India is dedicated to supporting people with personal and collective healing and transformation with an emphasis on embodying our truths.
India considers herself to be a life long student of all things related to being in a body. She studies dance, bodywork, and somatics as she strives to understand what are the complexities of being in a body; what are the gifts of embodiment and how can we be with the challenges of embodiment with a little more ease? India is always asking questions and finds that her favorite questions have no answers. India loves the body, because despite studying it for twenty years, she still has so many unanswerable questions. India comes to Wise Body as a place to deepen her exploration of her own embodiment in conjunction with other people interested in doing the same. India enters this space as much student as facilitator, excited for more to revealed to all of us over time. India is originally from Michigan, but considers herself a Bay Area convert after living here for over fifteen years. When India is not busy with her work, she enjoys time in nature, reading, and playing with her kitten. To find out more about India, please visit her website lovingtheskinyouarein.com. |
